Upon publication of the EU’s Consumer Package on April 11th, bne provided its members with a comprehensive overview (in German) on the content of the so-called New Deal for Consumers. It is composed of two proposals: The first proposal (which is labelled “Refit Directive”) aims at amending Council Directive on unfair terms in consumer contracts, Directive on consumer protection in the indication of the prices of products offered to consumers, Directive concerning unfair business-to-consumer commercial practices and Directive on consumer rights. The second proposal on representative actions for the protection of the collective interests of consumers aims at repealing the Injunctions Directive (2009/22/EC).
